Jing Ting Noodles & Dumplings at City of Dreams Manila.

The newest restaurant in City of Dreams Manila is Jing Ting Noodles & Dumplings.  It's an open kitchen, casual dining restaurant that offers Cantonese dishes.  I regret not being able to take a photo of the restaurant's exterior (because I'm in a wheelchair which is another story for another time) but it looks like a little house.  Actually, Jing Ting means little house or resting place and is inspired by the Chinese Hutongs, which are small areas of old buildings in Beijing.

T and I decide to get the Pan Fried Pork Bun with Onions and Sesame (PhP288++) which is good for sharing.  It's not really the sweet asado siopao type but the other kind of Chinese pork bun.  T likes it and finishes two pieces.

I am craving for dumplings so I order the 8-piece Beijing Pork "Jiao Zi" Dumpling (PhP378++) which the server says is their best seller.  If you're dining as a large group, you can order the big bowl containing 30 pieces (PhP1,260++).  T and I like it, especially the dumpling wrapper.  You can mix the sauce that comes with it with black vinegar and chili for more flavor.

For our main, I order the Crispy Fried Tea-Marinated Chicken (PhP298++).  The serving is big and can be shared by two to three people.  T and I both like this.

For his main, T orders the Hand-Pulled Noodles in Beef Broth (PhP398++).  It tastes more like the Vietnamese broths than the salty Chinese ones that we are used to.  In other words, it tastes more 'healthy' than bechin :P

Despite being in pain because of my back, I enjoyed dinner with T here in Jing Ting.  Kudos to their staff for being attentive to my needs (such as putting away the wheelchair for us in another place because the table where we were seated was a bit cramped) and to our server who quickly endorsed us to another server because her shift was over before we finished our meals.

Thumbs Up!
Good food.
Friendly and attentive staff.
Closes late.
Nice casual ambiance.

Thumbs Down!
Nothing really.

Verdict
Ting Jing is a good place to go to for dinner or late night food runs because it has a mix of quick, inexpensive pica-picas such as dumplings as well as dinner mains such as the Genghis Khan Roasted Prime Beef Short Ribs.  T and I will definitely be back.
