Denny's Uptown BGC.

I have a lot of memories of Denny's.  When I was younger, my family would have breakfast there often because there was a branch near my Dad's house in California.  Denny's is also a frequent pit stop during long drives since there was always one along the freeway.  I actually had my birthday breakfast there last year with my sister in San Diego.  And finally, Denny's is now in the Philippines!

T knows that Denny's has sentimental meaning to me so when he picked me up from the airport, we went straight to Denny's in Uptown BGC.  There was a line though because Denny's just opened the day before we went there.

The vibe of Denny's here is a bit different.  I can't seem to place my finger on it since they have similar interior but I feel it's more casual in the US.

The menu of Denny's here is also different because it carries Filipino favorites such as Arroz Caldo, Chicken and Pork Adobo, Ribeye Bistek Tagalog, Crispy Bangus Belly, and Lucban Longganisa.

Here is the menu of Denny's Uptown BGC.

There's also Dessert, Cocktails, and Beer in the menu.

It's already dinner time but we're fans of all day breakfast so T orders the Lumberjack Slam (PhP495+SC) which has two buttermilk pancakes, a slice of grilled ham, two bacon strips, two sausage links, two eggs, and toast.  It was supposed to come with hash browns but they didn't have any (to our dismay) so they offer fries instead.  Still not the same though.  And I don't know if they didn't serve the pancakes or if I just forgot to take a photo.  I have to ask T about this :D

I usually get pancakes but I want to try something different so I order the Philly Cheesesteak Omelette (PhP455+SC) which is an omelet with grilled beef, sautéed mushrooms, roasted bell peppers, onions, and melted Swiss Cheese.  It is served with toast and hash browns but like I said, the latter is not available so they substitute it also with fries. I wish I got pancakes instead because the beef is tough and I couldn't taste the cheese as much.  I also order an extra side of Bacon (PhP85+SC).

T and I frequent restaurants of the Bistro Group so we are happy to know that Denny's is part of it and that we can use our Bistro Card here to get discounts and freebies.

Thumbs Up!
Good location.
Open 24 hours.
Menu contains both classic Denny's dishes and Filipino favorites.

Thumbs Down!
No hash browns when we went there.
Beef in my omelet was tough.

Verdict
As much as possible, I try not to expect food from American chains to be almost exactly the same so I'd say Denny's in BGC is still worth the visit.  I heard they're opening another branch in Sta Rosa, Laguna but I hope they open another branch in Alabang too!
