Oishi Snacktacular 2016 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall.

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, you might have seen my funny human claw machine and duck videos.   The event I went to is called Oishi Snacktacular 2016 which is still on going until July 18 (that's tomorrow) at the Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia from 10am to 9pm.  T and I went yesterday and Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, Alex Gonzaga, Slater Young, and Ramon Bautista were also there.  But don't worry, Maine Mendoza aka Yaya Dub will be there on Sunday!

Since I got a lot of questions about the event, I thought of blogging about it instead.  I'll do my best to give you a detailed guide on what to expect inside Oishi Snacktacular 2016.  From what I know, entrance is free.  You just have to pay for the booths that you want to participate in.

Registration Booth

The first step is to go to the Registration Booth to get your 'Pass To Wow'.  This pass contains a map and will also act as your scorecard throughout the day.  If you get the highest number of points at the end of the day, you can win a 4ft Giant Oishi Pack full of your Oishi favorites and P1,000 worth of gift certificates.

Pack and Pose
(Free | Points: No. of people in the photo)

All you have to do is gather for a photo and post using the hashtag #OishiSnacktacular.  The more people in your group, more points you get.  T and I were the early birds so it was only the two of us at first and that's only 2 points.

And then Camille of The Soshal Network came with her posse, so we got more points. Yay!

Make A Snack
(P20 | Points: 20)

Here you can create your own Oishi mix!  T and I love to mix and match snacks so we enjoyed in this booth.  You can get a  maximum of two bases and two flavors.  I mixed the Oishi Prawn Crackers and Tortilla Chips with Garlic and Salt and Nori.  Yummy!

Snack Catcher
(P200 | Points: No. of snacks grabbed)

This is the human giant claw game that you probably saw on my Facebook and Instagram.  Basically, you'll just plunge into a big tub of snacks and grab as much snacks as you can!  It's so much fun, this is a must try!

The technique is to use both your arms and your legs. Some people forget about using their legs and that's about at least 15 snacks too.  I got 55 snacks while T got 77.   Here are our videos:

(P20 | Points: 20)

Here you can enjoy an Oishi Choco Chug ice cream with two toppings.

The toppings are not the usual ones you'll see out there but also Oishi snacks.  So cool!  There's Mobster's Popcorn, Wafu Creamy Leche Flan, Pillows Choco, O-Puff Marshmallows, Sponge Crunch Choco, and Gourmet Picks Natural Sea Salt.

Snack Shack
(P295 | Points: Weight in lbs x 100)

The challenge in this booth is to fill your Oishi 2ft Giant Pack in 60 seconds.  Fun right?  But the cuter thing here is that you get to choose what giant pack to get.  I got the classic Oishi Prawn Crackers while T got the Mobsters Popcorn.  Your points will depend on the weight of your giant pack.  You can get as much as you can but the rule is that you should be able to close the giant bag.

Cuckoo Blaster
(P295 | Points: No. of balls caught x 10)

You have to catch as many balls as you can and you win the equivalent number of snacks.  It's not as easy as it seems though! Here's a video of me trying to catch the ping pong balls.  Turn your volume up ;)

Slush C+
(P20 | Points: 20)

After all the activities, this is the best booth to go to.  You get to refresh with a glass of freezing Smart C+ Slushee.  There are two flavors.. Calamansi and Pomelo.

World of Wow

To celebrate Oishi's 70th year, they put up an exhibit showing the different Oishi snacks all over Asia.  What's cool was we were able to try these snacks during the event.  T liked the Oishi Pillows durian flavor and he doesn't even eat durian!

Thank you to the Oishi team for inviting us to this event.  It was so much fun!  And now T and I have    enough snacks to last us for a long time when we do TV and movie marathons.  Hope to attend again next year :)
