Acacia Hotel (part 2): The Lobby at Acacia.

...continued from (part 1): Staycation at the Executive Suite.

T and I have a light snack at The Lobby at Acacia because it's still too early for dinner.   When we get there, I see the Joei & Me logo on one of the tables.  How cute!

After taking our orders, our server Alaizza gives us bread and olive oil to munch on while waiting for our food.

T gets a bowl of Triple Mushroom Soup (PhP250/$5.50++) which is a purée of earthy flavored button, oyster, and shiitake mushrooms topped with cream.

On the other hand, I order a bowl of French Onion Soup (PhP150/$3.28++) which is served with whole wheat crouton and Gruyere cheese.  Unlike the usual french onion soups that I've tried, The Lobby's version is thick and not watery, which I prefer.  I also like the bread on top with the Gruyere cheese.  The serving is big enough to be shared by two people.

Since we are having dinner in a bit, I just order the Caesar Salad (PhP250/$5.50++) which is mixed greens with romain and iceberg lettuce in Caesar dressing topped with crispy smoked bacon bits and parmesan croutons.  It's a different kind of Caesar salad because there's a soft boiled egg in the middle.  I thought I wouldn't like it because I like my egg well done but I did.  The dressing is sweet , and not salty, which compliments the taste of the egg.

T orders the Triple Decker (PhP330/$7.25++) which has grilled prawns, seared chicken fillet, smoked salmon, iceberg lettuce, avocado relish, and sundried tomato on toasted black pepper brioche served with French fries on the side.  Ok, so this isn't light at all but it's good!

For our drinks, our server Alaizza suggests that we try their specials.  So T orders the Drink of the Month called Seoul Smoothie which is made with peanut butter, Oreo cookies, and cream blended into one sweet smoothie.  T absolutely loves it!  Every order of The Lobby's Drink of the Month comes with a toy.

I order the Acacia Goddess (PhP300/$6.50++) which is made of pineapple, fresh apple, orange, carrots, and watermelon.  It's known to be a metabolism booster and a kidney cleansing treat.

After eating everything, T and I realize that the food we ordered isn't really what you could call a 'light snack'.  Oh well, as long as our tummies are happy :D
