Looking for a summer watch? Why don't you check out the Lacoste 12.12 Watch!
Nicknamed the crocodile for his tenacity on the court, René Lacoste created a uniform that would allow for better sweat absorption and freedom of movement. He named it L.12.12 L for Lacoste, 1 for its one-of-a-kind fabric, 2 for its short sleeves, and 12 for the number of the final version of the design he selected for production.
I have always been a fan of Lacoste shirts since I was in high school. I believe it's the classic shirt that would never go out of style! T was nahawa also with my addition, constantly building his growing Lacoste shirt collection.
So when I got an invite to the launch of the Lacoste 12.12 watch collection held by country distributor Lucerne and global licensee Movado Group, Inc. (MGI), I was excited! The event was held in Makati Shangri-la's Isabella ballroom and hosted by renowned sports personalities Anthony Suntay and Patricia Bermudez-Hizon.
After lunch, Julian Addison, President of MGI for the Asia Pacific, welcomed the guests to the event.
He then introduced the Lacoste 12.12 Watch, the Lacoste shirt in a watch! It comes in six different colors – grey, red, blue, white, green, and black. My favorite is the green one.
After the presentation, we were called for a tennis tournament on the Nintendo Wii. I found it so cool that Anthony Suntay and Patricia Bermudez-Hizon were commentating because their voices added legitimacy to the tournament. It felt like we were really watching a real tennis game!
I was paired with Ruth of Ruthilicious and surprisingly (because it has been years since I last played this!), we beat a number of teams. Ruth and I reached the semi-finals but we lost to Jackie of Go Jackie Go and her partner in a best of 3 match.
After the tournament, the 'players' were given loot bags filled with Lacoste merchandise. But before the event ended, another surprise awaited us... We were all given our very own Lacoste 12.12 timepiece!
Always nice to see you Jackie and Nikki! Here we are happy with our new watches. Thank you Rochelle and Mon Manguila of Pix Republik for sharing the event photos :)
