Marmalade Kitchen at The Forum BGC.

T and I see The Forum when we're in BGC but haven't really gotten to try any of the restaurants there.  Instead of going to Bonifacio High Street or SM Aura after work, we went to try Marmalade Kitchen.

It was hot when we entered the restaurant but I think it's because there weren't any diners so there wasn't any a/c.   But they switched it on when I commented on the temperature.

Sorry for the quality of the photos.  I only had my phone with me when we went here because my trusty Canon camera is still in the shop.  It doesn't help that the lighting inside the restaurant is a bit dim.

Like any of our visits to new restaurants, we usually ask for the bestsellers.  To start, our server suggested Roasted Chicken and Dried Cranberries Salad (PhP320/$7.20+SC) with strawberry vinaigrette dressing.  I already ate a whole bowl of pasta at another cafe before T picked me up so I'm good with just half a salad and an appetizer.

All of Marmalade Kitchen's salads come in two sizes and we ordered the one for sharing.  But when the salad came, it was just enough for one person.  Also, I couldn't really taste the strawberry vinaigrette to the point that I wondered if they even mixed any dressing in at all.

For our appetizer, T and I ordered Cauliflower Fritters (PhP210/$4.75+SC) in sweet spicy sticky sauce.  This is really good!  T and I like this a lot.

For T's main, our server suggested the Slow Cooked Beef Short Ribs (PhP470/$10.60+SC) which comes with potato wedges and coleslaw.   T said it was just ok and for the price, the serving is small.

For our drinks, we got Fresh Fruit Shakes (PhP120/$2.71+SC) and even these were watered down and bland.

Marmalade Kitchen also offers cooking classes in their kitchen studio which is something interesting to take up this summer.  For class schedules, I posted the URLs of their website and Facebook page below.

Thumbs Up!
Friendly and attentive server.
Cooking classes in their kitchen studio.

Thumbs Down!
Food is just ok.
Small serving size for the price.

Verdict
T and I were disappointed because we were expecting something more from a restaurant that looks like it serves good comfort food.
