Nest Modern Table & Bar in Bonifacio Global City.

If you're looking for a not-the-usual-because-not-everyone-has-been-there date place, check out Nest Modern Table & Bar.  Last November, T and I were invited to have dinner there which was perfect timing since it felt like an extended celebration of our anniversary.

T and I like the ambiance of the restaurant.  It was pretty cold inside Nest that evening but we're not sure if it's the a/c or if the windows were open.  The restaurant is located on the top floor of the W so it's possible that the cool breeze came from the outside.

For our drinks, our server gave us Nest Iced Teas (PhP92/$2+).

To start our meal, T and I were each given a bowl of Chunky Butternut Squash and Chickpea Soup (P150/$3.40+).  It's a different kind of butternut and squash soup, not the one I am used to.  Nest's version is actually Mediterranean and very rich which is why it's perfect with the naan.  I like it.

While waiting for the main dishes, we were given bar chow of Assorted Yakitori (PhP300/$$6.80+) with salmon, chicken, pork, and shrimp.  I like it because I could really taste the.. I don't know how to describe it but... the grilled-ness of the meat.  When I order yakitori, it's usually bland and I have to add pepper or some kind of sauce to compensate but this one isn't.

For our main, we were given the 5 Spiced Roast Pork Belly (PhP250/$5.65+) which is Kurobuta pork belly with soy and garlic noodles and cucumber relish.  This dish is very tasty and the pork belly is really soft.  T and I really like it.

Another main served was Roast Chicken Supreme (PhP280/$6.33+) which is a quarter chicken with duxelle, veloute, snap peas, grapes, and caramelized onions.

They also served us Rack of Lamb (PhP950/$21.50+) with herb and mustard glaze, smoked eggplant, glazed zucchini and lamb jus.  I don't eat lamb so I wasn't able to taste this but T said the lamb was soft and tasty.

T and I were so full and don't have space for our stomachs anymore but the desserts looked so good!   The first one they served us was Milk and Cookies (PhP180/$4) and to our surprise it's actually creme brûlée with chocolate chip cookies. Cool! Since T loves creme brûlée and cookies, he finished most of this.

They gave us another dessert called Chocolate Textures (PhP200/$4.50+) which is chocolate marquise with raspberry coulis, fudge brownies and strawberries.  I love chocolate and berries so I ate most of this.

After dessert, they offered us cocktails.  For me, our server suggested Sexy and I Know It (P331/$7.50+) which is Absolut Vanilla with rose syrup, lemon, maraschino cherry and liquer.

T got a drink called Smokin' (P414/$9.37++) which is Laphroaig single malt scotch with coconut syrup, honey and lime.  Yes, they light it up before serving it to you.

Here is Nest's menu but for Valentine's (Feb 13 and 14), they will be offering a 4-course set menu which comes with a glass of wine and a special token from Nest.

Thank you Paolo Paraiso, Camille, and rest of the Nest group for this post-anniversary treat!
