Beauty and the Beast in Manila.

Last Sunday, T and I watched Beauty and the Beast at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).   This is the first international tour of the original Broadway musical in celebration of its 20th year anniversary.

T and I arrived early so I took a photo of my ticket before switching off my phone.  Apparently, T took a photo of me taking a photo.  Huli!

It's my first time to sit in the box area.  A bit scary since we were seated on the first row but nice since we have a good view of the stage and the musical orchestra.

I love the costumes and the actors!  They all sound like the ones in the original Disney movie, especially Gaston and Lumiere.  I was brought back to my childhood days and to other good memories while watching.

I remember watching the musical in Disneyland with my sister when we were younger, just before the movie came out.  If I'm not mistaken, it was Disney's marketing introduction for the movie.

I also remember watching the movie again with T during a DVD movie date.  This scene was one of his earliest Instagram posts.

And I still know the words of the songs from the movie OST by heart.  It took much willpower not to sing along!

"There goes the baker with his tray like always
The same old bread and rolls to sell
Every morning's just the same
Since the morning that we came
To this poor provincial town..."

I know you can't take photos while the show is going on but T snuck a shot of my favorite scene.  Don't you just love all the colors?  My friend Djong Tan commented on my Facebook post that you can't help but sing when you hear "Nooooo onnnnneeeeee's slick as Gaston.." and she's right.   Either my head was swaying or my foot was tapping while they sung.  Like I said, willpower.  I didn't sing out loud ;)

I still have a cold but I just took strong meds so I could go that night.  I'm so happy that I got to watch.  Thank you Mayor LLC!

Buhaghag hair and maga eyes won't stop me from watching Beauty and the Beast! :D

Beauty and the Beast runs until February 1 but they are cancelling the January 15 and 18 showings because of the Papal visit.  If you already purchased a ticket on these dates, call (02) 891-999 for rebooking options.  Ticket prices range from P2,105 (Balcony) to P7,895 (Orchestra Center) and are available from the TicketWorld website.

To those watching, have fun singing along in your head (or out loud)!
