Tus Restaurant in Westgate Alabang.

Calling all ladies who lunch (and brunch), here's a nice place for you to try in Westgate Alabang.. Tus Restaurant!  T and I arrived a bit late so Mish was kind enough to let me use her photos for this blog entry.   Here's a rundown of the things we tried.

Pineapple Float (P390/$9)
I've never tried ice cream on my pineapple juice before so this is a first.  It's surprisingly good!

These are the three dishes under the Breakfast Skillet category.  All breakfast skillets are served with egg and roasted tomatoes with baked beans.  There is also a choice of toast with butter, plain rice, or steak fried rice.

Breakfast Sausage (P350/$8)
Tus' homemade version of the breakfast sausage with south style potatoes.

Pulled Pork with Coleslaw (P350/$8)
Seasoned and carefully slow cooked teased apart pork with coleslaw.   This is good.

Bacon and Eggs (P350/$8)
Because T and I love bacon, this immediately got my attention from the menu.  This skillet comes with 3 slices of bacon.  Yum!

Another category on the menu is the Breakfast Gozleme.  Gozleme is a traditional savory Turkish dish made of hand-rolled dough brushed with butter, filled with toppings, sealed, and seared in a griddle.

Spicy Beef Gozleme (P290/$6.50)
Savory paprika spicy beef cooked with garlic and cheese wrapped in gozleme dough and served with cucumber salad on the side.  I love how the cucumber salad balances the spiciness of the main dish.  A must try at Tus!

Next category is the Frittata which is an egg-based dish similar to an omelette or crustless quiche, enriched with additional ingredients such as meats, cheese, and vegetables.  The word frittata is derived from the Italian language and roughly translates to "egg cake".

Bacon and Spinach Frittata (P180/$4.15)
This bacon and spinach frittata is served with toast and butter.

Tus also has Sandwiches.  Here are the different kinds that we tried.

Hot Chicken Sandwich with Jalapeños (P290/$6.50)
Pan seared chicken fillet topped with romaine lettuce, cheese, and onions served with jalapeños on the side for that spicy kick.

Egg Salad & Asparagus Sandwich with Pan Seared Tomatoes (P245/$5.60)
Homemade egg salad together with asparagus and chives served with pan-seared tomatoes and basil on the side.  I love the food presentation!

Tus also serves pizzas which they call Pot Pies.  Here are the ones that we've tried.

Margherita Pot Pie (P380/$8.75)
Fresh tomato, basil and olive oil.

Chicken Ranch Pot Pie (P360/$8.25)
Pan-seared chicken tossed in Tus' own buffalo sauce topped with homemade ranch dressing.  This is good!

Truth: I eat cake for breakfast.  Literally.  Not just the once-in-a-while sweet thing.  My mom always keeps something sweet in the fridge or cupboard because I need cake, cookies, or anything sweet to start my day.  And my sweet tooth is so bad that I eat chocolate cake with my favorite sinigang (whenever I do this, T is always, like, 'What the?!) and I put leftover icing from Michelle's Coco Cakes baking on chicken fingers when I'm at their house.  So, for me, it is never too early to have dessert!   That said, here is the dessert that we tried.

Half Baked Cookie (P160/$3.60+)
House-made cookie dough half baked in a cazuela with vanilla ice cream on the side and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.  It's chewy, gooey, and creamy all at the same time.  Another Tus must-try!

Thank you Kai, Chef Krsna, and Tus Restaurant for having us!

Thumbs Up!
Nice ambiance.
Good food presentation.
Reasonable prices (no service charge).

Thumbs Down!
Nothing really.

Verdict
T and I want to come back to try their dinner menu!
