Hong Kong (part 3): Times Square and New Era Egg Waffles.

…continued from Hong Kong (part 2): The New Sweet Dynasty

After eating, Di took us to Times Square in Causeway Bay.  It's easy to go there via the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) since the station exit is directly at the lower level of the mall.

Times Square is a major shopping center in the area with lots of floors, 16 to be exact.   Since it's Batman's 75th anniversary, there's an exhibition dedicated to the Dark Knight.

There are 230 shops in Times Square including Chanel, MaxMara, Burberry, Zara, Vivienne Tam, Armani Exchange, Ben Sherman, Bally, Coach and the like.

While Di and I were shopping in Chanel, T and Ara got bored.  We found them at Laduree buying macarons :D

Laduree does not only have macarons, they also have chocolates, confectionary, teas, perfumed candies and home fragrances.

Here is T and Ara with their purchases.

The macarons T bought matched my old Laduree keychain.

Box of 15 Assorted Macarons is around HKD345 or $8.

When we went outside, there's another life-size Batman outside Times Square.

Before our trip, Gene and Di told us that we were going to try a lot of street food and the first one Di made us try were eggettes or egg waffles (HKD15/$2) from New Era, just across Time Square.

Eggettes are waffle balls or egg puffs made from eggs, sugar, flour, and light evaporated milk.  They are best served hot and eaten plain but it can also be served with fruit or other flavors.  It's something you have to try when you go to Hong Kong.  You can get them at New Era but there are a lot of other stalls selling them.
