It was pretty hectic during my birthday week and when T asked what I wanted to do on my birthday, I said I just wanted to rest. But he insisted that we go out even for dinner to celebrate so I thought of treating him to this Japanese restaurant we've been wanting to try in SM Aura called Ogetsu Hime.
When we entered, a group of chefs greeted us in Japanese.
I got the Sashimi Moriawase (P680) which has shake, maguro, ika, uni, tamago, kani, ebi, ebiko and tako.
It was my first time to eat raw octopus. It was ok, a bit tough like squid, but not weird tasting.
I asked the server what their best-selling makis were. He said Rainbow Batera (P240) which is a Batera molded sushi roll topped with tuna, salmon, ika, kani, shime saba, and ebi, flavored with an assortment of Ogetsu Hime sauces. This is really good.
Our server also said the Soft Shell Crab Roll (P320) which is tempura fried soft shell crab with asparagus, cucumber, mango honey sauce rolled in aonori and topped with Japanese mayonnaise and unagi sauce. This is also good.
T got the Ogetsu Prime Sukiyaki (P1,250) which was cooked in front of us. First, the server lined the grill with beef fat.
Then she added the vegetables and shiitake and enoki mushrooms.
Finally, she added the broth, beancurd and yam noodles.
She arranged it in a bowl quite nicely. Then she cooked the beef next and placed it in another bowl. T and I love the sukiyaki a lot.
We also got the Seafood Moriawase (P520) which has grilled prawns, Norwegian salmon, and mahi mahi.
The dish already comes with Yasai Itame or assorted mixed vegetables which if ordered separately costs P190.
It was a really good Japanese meal. I'm glad T insisted that we go out for dinner. Happy birthday to me! :)
Good Japanese food.
Love the sukiyaki.
Almost no leg room where I was seated.
T and I will come back when we're in the area.
