Looking Back at 2013.

I always feel bad about not being able to blog about important events or trips because of my schedule or a bad case of blogger's block.  So I thought it would be a good idea to go through all of the photos this year and reminisce before 2013 ends.  Here goes!

New Year's Eve 2013
January

T and I counted down the last few seconds of 2012 in Tagaytay Highlands. I don't know if you guys remember but it was so cold unlike this year's holiday weather.  And because it was freezing in Tagaytay, it didn't seem awkward to wear fur (faux, of course!) or a thick sweater.

 Southern Living Feature
January

I was featured as one of the "Southerners" of Southern Living's January issue.  It was a nice experience but hated that the photographer took shots from the floor up adding instant pounds to my photo *HatestAngleEver*

The King and I
January 12

I like musicals, T doesn't and so I don't get to see that much plays.  So when T's sister Michelle asked me if I wanted to watch "The King and I", I immediately said YES!

Swedish House Mafia
January

T and I watched the concert of Swedish House Mafia at the MOA Arena.  Who's gonna save the world toniggghhhtttt?  It was such a fun night!

Valentines Day
 February

T surprised me with white roses!  We never really "celebrate" Valentine's Day because T believes we don't need a special day to celebrate, as every day can be a special day.  So I was really surprised when he said needed to get some stuff from a friend's house and then when he came back, he had a bouquet for me!

Baguio
February

I went on a weekend trip to Baguio and had a taste of Chocolate de Batirol for the first time.

Meeting Manny Pacquiao
March

T and I were supposed to go out but he said he had to play basketball.  I wondered why he used the word HAD.  So I watched in heels and all (major pet peeve).  Then I saw who he was playing with.. Manny Pacquiao!  Kaya pala HAD.  Haha! Who can say no to the Pacman?

64th Monthsary at Acacia Hotel
March

Like I mentioned earlier, we don't make an effort to celebrate "special" occasions because we believe in making every day a special day.  But Acacia Hotel made us smile with this little something they prepared for us after dinner.  Thanks guys! :)

A Visit from Russia
April

Julia is a blogger from Russia who my friend Koryn and I met through, well, blogging.  We were surprised when she said she booked a trip to the Philippines to meet up! We took Julia around the Metro, ate in different restaurants, drove to Tagaytay, and went clubbing!   Which reminds me, I still have to blog about this.

Summer Solstice
April

Since everyone was in Boracay for Labor Day, T and I decided to stop by and see what Summer Solstice, a 12-hour non-stop musical festival, was all about.  What do you know?  I ran into my high school friends, law school friends, and John Lloyd Cruz! LOL

Make Your Own Havaianas
April

I was invited to the Make Your Own Havaianas event in Rockwell and got one of my favorite pairs to date.. a limited edition glow in the dark Dan Matutina.

My Big Three-Oh in Boracay
May 23

I wasn't able to celebrate last year because I was in the hospital.  And I thought this year wouldn't be much different with all the stress.  But I got my wish and spent my birthday on my favorite beach.  Boracay!

Zipline in Bukidnon
June

For T's first zipline experience, I took him to the longest zipline in Asia.  And yes, that's me at the back, getting revenge because T would always photobomb my photos.  Take that! :D

White Water Rafting in CDO
June

I have yet to compose a blog entry but this was such a fun and crazy experience!

Pet Society Closes
June

This game kept me preoccupied while waiting for the bar exam results so I was so sad to learn that it was closing!  My pet's house was so pretty and everything I own were limited edition items I got from trading.  Yes, I was serious about playing this game.  Goodbye Beezle! Sniff.

Rainy Season
June

My first flood experience.  I don't think I can ever drive again around the Manila area during the rainy season.  It was traumatizing.

RH in the Supreme Court
June

This was a surreal experience.  Grateful to have experienced it so early in my life.

Magosaburo
July

I have yet to blog about this new fine dining restaurant at the Fort Strip.  And T took me there.. just because!  It was an ordinary day made extraordinary by T :)

Pat and Gian's Wedding

SONA

This is the first time I got to see the President Noynoy Aquino up close.  No comment.

Starbucks Opens Inside Our Village

Team Gilas, Laban Pilipinas!
August

One of the best games I've seen in my life!

Baking Lessons in Enderun
August

I've been wanting to take cooking or baking lessons but I couldn't find the time.  So one day, I just told myself "Bahala na si Batman" and did it!  I think I was the only first timer there but the instructors and the people around me were very helpful.  Will do this again next year!

The Conjuring
August

The movie that rocked the nation!  It took a lot of persuasion and a bit of conniving with our friend Neil Arce to get T to watch.

Prince Albert
August

Scarlet Jenine Guanio-Mago Turns One!
August

The bundle of joy of our friends Steeve and Pia turned one and they had this beautiful carnival themed party with an awesome magician.  Even the adults were going "woooowwww.." :D

Anniversary in Crimson Hotel
November

T had a basketball game during our anniversary.  Of course, I knew it was important to him so I told him to play and I could just do some work at the office.  But he surprised me by not playing and took me out to dinner instead :)

 Typhoon Yolanda
November

Organized relief efforts so food and medicine will reach people affected in Eastern Samar.  I still have no words for this devastating storm.  I just hope it never happens again.

Old Fashioned Carnival
November

I love old-fashioned carnivals!  So when they put up one in Molito Arcade in Alabang, I asked T if we could go.

Bana Rivas-Beron's 1st Birthday

My friend Polay Rivas' daughter Bana celebrated her first birthday and the theme of the party was "fiesta".  There were fun games like palo sebo and pabitin.  Here's a guide on how NOT to catch a piglet captured by T, featuring yours truly.

I realize now why preparation for Christmas always makes me happy but anticipation for the New Year makes me sad.  I have a hard time letting go of a good year!   But it's funny since I feel the same way every year, which means each year brings me good memories so I shouldn't be sad.  How about you?  How do you feel about 2013 and 2014? :)
