Cafe Puccini at the Fort Strip.

Coming from the Da Vinci The Genius traveling exhibit in The Mind Museum (read my blog entry about it), T and I thought of having dinner in URBN.  However, the girl on the ground floor told us that they were closed for a private function.  We were about to walk elsewhere when it rained!  We looked around to see if there were any other nice dinner places when the lights of Cafe Puccini caught my eye.

From the outside, the place seemed warm and cozy.  And it was!  I'd recommend this for first dates, anniversary celebrations or Christmas dinners.

Not only was it warm and cozy, Cafe Puccini was festive as well.  Check out the bar.

I love how they keep their stock organized and in plain view, like we were just in someone's kitchen.

There's also a nice eating area outside in the veranda.

Our server first gave us a bread basket with some kind of pate and tomatoes.  I'm not a fan of both but I loved the tomatoes.

While waiting for the food, T became all Da Vinci-ish and drew.

For our appetizer, I chose the Ostriche Rockefeller (Php 415/$9) which is oysters with parsley, parmesan, butter, herbs, spinach and hollandaise sauce.

For our main, T chose the Spinach and Gamberetti Risotto (P435/$10) which is spinach and shrimp in parmesan and mascarpone cream cheese.  T said it was just ok but I liked it!  It's not too heavy and a nice complement to a heavy dish such as steak.  I think the reason why T didn't like it as much is because he doesn't like the taste of spinach which was why I wondered why he chose this instead of the one with mushrooms and cream.

Our server recommended the Prime Grade Angus Rib Eye Steak (Php1,850/$41) marinated with crushed peppercorn, Italian rock salt, olive oil, fresh thyme and served with peppercorn sauce and mashed potatoes.  T and I loved this!  300 grams can be good enough for two if eaten with another main like risotto or pasta.

Since we ordered steak, I got Sangria (Php 715/$16) to go with it.

Me and T, happy and full.  Sundates are the best, aren't they? :)

Thumbs Up!
Great ambiance.
Good food.
Reasonable prices.
Friendly and attentive servers.

Thumbs Down!
Nothing really.

T and I will pay another visit to try their pizzas!
