SONA 2013.

I know, I haven't written for so long.  Things became a little hectic and even if I wanted to share all the good places I've visited recently, I just don't have the time (or the energy) to write about it afterwards.   But thank you to those who encouraged me to keep blogging!  Really appreciate it :)

Anyway, this is a super late post but might as well publish it since it's been sitting in my drafts folder.  These are photos from the day the President delivered his State of the Nation Address for 2013.

In the morning, both houses of Congresses (the House of Representatives and the Senate) have their own sessions to elect their respective officers for the upcoming Congress.   That's newly-elected Senator Grace Poe wearing a white Rajo Laurel terno

Newly-elected Senator Sonny Angara nominates Senator Franklin Drilon as Senate President.

Also newly-elected Senator Nancy Binay nominates former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile as Senate President.

Senator Franklin Drilon wins as the Senate President of the 16th Congress.  Newly-elected Senator Bam Aquino swears him in.

Former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile is now the Minority Leader.  Beside him is newly-elected Senator JV Ejercito.

Presenting, the Senators of the 16th Congress.

This is me and my "seatmate" Karen who is about to give birth at any moment ;)

After session has adjourned, the Senators then proceed to the House of Representatives for a joint session.

With Senator Pia before heading to Batasan where the House of Representatives is.

At the House of Representatives.  The red carpet where gents and the ladies strut their beautiful barongs and ternos ;)

That's the Philippine President in the middle of the Senate President and the Speaker of the House.  His State of the Nation Address lasted almost 2 hours.

Here I am with the brave policewoman that the President commended in his speech.

Suddenly, people are buzzing about.  I did not pay any attention to it until I saw President Aquino right in front of us.  Hence, the paparazzi looking shot.

Just before heading home, guess whose photo I saw? If you don't know who he is, read my blog post about the Impeachment Trial ;)

Have a great week ahead everyone!  Hope to share more food posts in the next few days.  I kind of miss writing about those, too :)
