Dos Palmas (part 2): Islang Puting Buhangin.

continued from part 1...

Day 2
3 November 2012

Dos Palmas owns an island just off the resort called Islang Puting Buhangin (Island of White Sand), access of which is only available to guests who are checked-in the resort.  After eating breakfast, T and I freshened up and proceeded to the main dock to catch the boat going to the island.

The boat departs at 10am and returns at 12nn daily, depending on weather conditions.  It was a bright and sunny day, perfect beach weather.

The boat ride to the island takes around 15 minutes or so.

Islang Puting Buhangin is known for its sandbar that stretches all the way to the sea.

The sandbar disappears around noon when the tides are higher.  T and I walked until the very end of the sandbar. Pretty cool.

This is how the island looks from the sandbar.

After snapping photos here and there, it was now time to get a tan!

I got a beach chair, my beach mat, and my Kindle, and set it up beside T.   The beach mat was what I wanted to buy in the gift shop, as I mentioned in my previous post. I got it before leaving the main island.

The sun was high up.  Good day for tanning.

Other guests that came with us brought packed lunches from the resort.  T and I didn't so a little before lunch time, we asked if we could go back to the main island.
