Rocket Room & Stella Woodfired Bistro at the Fort.

Rocket Room and Stella Woodfired Bistro are two adjacent establishments located at the new wing of Bonifacio High Street.

Stella is a restaurant that specializes in dishes cooked in a wood fired oven..

..while Rocket Room is a bar and caters more to the evening crowd.

But what's nice about the two establishments is that they belong to the same company, Raintree Restaurants.  So, you can order food from Stella and have drinks at Rocket Room.

I've only been here twice.  The first time with colleagues and the second time with T.  Both times, we ordered food from Stella but stayed at Rocket Room.

Taken on a weekday during my first visit.

As you can see, it gets pretty crowded during weekends.

Taken on a weekend during my second visit with T.

During my first visit, we were given complimentary bread and some kind of tomato and garlic.

We also ordered Roasted Garlic Mushroom Soup (P175/$4.50) with Pimenton Dust and Creme Fraiche.

During my second visit, T got the Bone Marrow (P420/$10.50) with Rosemary Sultana Compote, Gremolata and Herb Garlic Focaccia chips.  T and I like think this competes with the bone marrow from neighboring Cue (read my blog post on Cue Modern Barbecue).  Not only is it double in size, it's a bit cheaper as well!

I've tried two pizzas.  During my first visit, we ordered the Smoked Salmon and Black Caviar (P450/$ ) with Ricotta Creme Fraiche, Fresh Dill, Red Onions and Lemon Caper Berries.  It was just alright.  I was expecting a bit more flavor.  I couldn't really taste the caviar.

During my visit with T, we got the Fire Roasted Truffle Mushroom with Porcini "Dust", Fresh Herbs and Malagos Ricotta.  This one I liked.

And can I just say, I love their chili oil.

The only dish that I got to try from Rocket Room is the Crispy Pork Belly Chips (P250/$6.25) with Himalayan Sea Salt and Spicy Pinakurat Vinegar.  It was ordered by my colleague Jorge but I almost finished the whole thing by myself.  Oops.  Yes, that good.  If you like bacon, you'll love this.  Come to think of it, it is crispy bacon.

Happy Hour in Rocket Room is from 4 to 8 in the evening every day.  I only got to try one drink during my visit with T and ordered it because of its name.. A Girl With Violet Eyes (P195/$4.80).  They call it a "new kind of mojito" with Mixed Berries, Apple Rum, Honey, Lychee and Lots of Mint.

Thumbs Up!
Convenience of having thee perks of a bar and a restaurant.
Good food.
Free wifi.

Thumbs Down!
Nothing really except that it gets pretty full from Thursdays til Saturdays.

I want to go back and the other dishes in Stella.  They sound good!

  1. The bone marrow looks damn delicious!

  2. The place looks so warm and inviting. And the pizza! Yum!

  3. I haven't been in either Stella or Rocket Room, but I'd love to visit both sometime soon. Maybe a lunch date at Stella with the bf, then an evening get-together with my friends at Rocket Room.. :)

  4. The bone marrow looks delish which is also the same that I am seeing in Wildflour Cafe in BGC (I think) :)

  5. Hi! Would you know if Stella accepts reservations?

  6. MIKS. Hi! I think they do. Posted their contact number at the bottom of the post :)
