TWG Tea Salon and Boutique opened its second branch at the Newport Mall of Resorts World Manila (read my blog post about TWG Tea in Greenbelt 5)!
During our first visit to TWG Tea Salon and Boutique in Greenbelt, T and I went around and just bought tea. This time, however, we decided to try their food.
We were seated at a table beside the tea area which is a bit smaller than the one in Greenbelt 5.
I found it nice how each table set up includes pretty tea cups and golden teaspoons.
In the middle of our table was a jar. T wondered what it contained.
He opened and saw... Sugar crystals!
There's also a Tea Book on our table which I read while waiting for our server.
Our server was very friendly and attentive and suggested a couple of dishes we should try. Interestingly, all of the dishes served in TWG Tea Salon and Boutique are infused with tea.
For his main course, T got the Beef Tenderloin (P695/$17) served with matchstick potatoes, and oven-baked tomato crumble and drizzled with a rich sauce infused with Polo Club Tea. I ate a portion of the beef and found it good enough even without the sauce.
"More pepper, Sir?"
T also got an extra order of Matchstick Potatoes (P185/$5) drizzled with pure white Alba truffle oil and Matcha salt. This is really good.
I, on the other hand, got Chicken En Brochette (P475/$12) which is pan-seared chicken flavored with whole grain mustard served with a colorful melange of capsicum and pineapple, drizzled with a Timeless Tea infused sauce. This dish is served with rice but I opted to go with a salad instead. So yummy. I'm glad I ordered it.
For his drink, T chose from the tea menu and ordered a glass of cold Caramel Tea.
I wanted something from the tea menu as well but the server and I had a misunderstanding. I thought I was ordering cold Orange Tea when in fact, I was ordering Fresh Orange Juice (P200/$5)! He was very apologetic about it though and the juice was good so it was fine :)
For dessert, I was going through a macaron phase so I got three of TWG Tea's best sellers --- Napoleon Tea & Caramel, Earl Grey Fortune & Chocolate, and Bain de Roses Tea (P55/$1.50 each). I liked all of them.
T got Chocolate Fondant (P255/$7) which is TWG Tea’s version of warm chocolate cake served with a light custard cream and a scoop of homemade Vanilla Bourbon Tea ice cream. See, even their ice cream is infused with tea.
When we were finished with our macarons, our server gave us two more pieces. I forgot what they were but both were also good! Thank you :)
On the way out, I saw boxes of macarons on the counter top...
...and cute teapots and teacups on display. Nice items to give as gifts :)
Friendly and attentive servers.
Interesting dishes since
Not really a con but the servings are a bit small (understandable because it's a tea salon). Just saying that it's not a good pick if you're starving.
We will definitely be back!
