One Tagaytay Place & Azalea Restaurant.

No plans for Valentines Day?  I'm thinking of posting a list of restaurants you can try but in the meantime, here's a place where you can stay for Valentines weekend --- One Tagaytay Place.

How to get to One Tagaytay Place

If you're coming from Sta Rosa exit or the Tagaytay Rotonda, turn left towards Picnic Grove, Palace in the Sky, and the Tagaytay Highlands area.  Go straight past the church until you see a 7-11 on your left. That's it!

En route to Tagaytay.

Promos and Rates

Check out their offers for the month of February and on Valentines weekend.

The February package comes with an hour of body massage for two at the O'Spa.  I haven't tried any of their services yet though.  Maybe next time when we come back.

The Lobby

This is not our first visit to One Tagaytay Place.  T and I prefer to stay here whenever we go to Tagaytay because the owner is T's friend.  But no, we paid for this stay so this isn't a sponsored post :)

We went straight to One Tagaytay Place after having dinner in Dasmarinas (read my blog post about RSM Lutong Bahay).   We appreciated how the bellboy was attentive to our needs and offered to carry our bags as soon as we were done checking in.

T filling up the guest information sheet.

Up we go!

The Room

Usually, T and I would reserve the One Bedroom Suite.  The only difference between the One Bedroom Suite and the Deluxe Double Room is that the suite has a separate space with couch and a TV set.  But we don't usually use that area anyway so we decided to get the Deluxe Double Room this time.

Our room has a veranda but I wasn't able to take photos because it was already dark when we arrived.

Probably to maximize space, the table opens up to become a dresser table.

The room does not have a mini bar.  Instead, there's complimentary bottled water, coffee, and tea.

One Tagaytay Place provides only basic toiletry needs such as toothbrush, soap, and shampoo.  No fancy schmancy stuff.

But they do have bathrobes, bedroom slippers, and clean towels, which are all very important to me!  Plus, there's free wifi!

The bathroom is not that spacious but it has hot water and a shower.

I slept at around 8 in the evening but the noise from the other room woke me up.  I think sound waves traveled through because we had a connecting room.   The door was closed but still, I could hear everyone talking from the other side.  It was never a problem during our previous visits though, only that night.

Azalea Restaurant

The next morning, T and I woke up early to have breakfast at Azalea Restaurant.

Breakfast is served from 7-10 am.  T and I were there at 7 so we had first pick of the newly-cooked spread.

Here are the dishes served that morning.  Food was good.  After finishing my full plate, I went back for seconds.

Pork tocino.

Corned beef and adobo.

Fried danggit (fish).

Pancakes and scrambled eggs.

Rice.

Cereals and a mini salad bar.

Bread, jam, and porridge.

Breakfast comes with a choice of hot chocolate or coffee but they also have juice.  No dessert though, only fruits.

Another thing worth trying in Azalea is their Mongolian Buffet.  I had this before with T and his friends, and everyone loved it.

T and I enjoyed our breakfast in Azalea but one thing we didn't like was how difficult it was to get the servers' attention.  Even if we were the only ones there, we had to strain our necks to look for the servers or to catch their attention for simple things such as refilling our glasses with water.  T and I could hear the servers but we could not see them.  Actually, there was one person behind me but she was busy talking to another staff member. But overall, it was a relaxing vacation and I wish we had more time to spend there.

Thumbs Up!
Clean towels and soft sheets (a major PLUS in my book!)
Helpful and friendly people at the reception, especially the bellboy that assisted us.
Good food at Azalea.
Convenience store open 24/7.
Free wifi (for guests) in almost all areas even in the room.

Thumbs Down!
Rooms are not that spacious unless you get the one bedroom or penthouse suite.
Inattentiveness of the servers in Azalea that morning.

Verdict
Like I said, T and I prefer to stay in One Tagaytay Place so of course, we'll be back!
