Cafe 1771 in El Pueblo.

Out of the few Christmas dinners T and I were able to go to this year (busy work schedule!), I'm glad one of them was in Cafe 1771.  I've dined in three 1771 restaurants: Chateau 1771 (Greenbelt 5), Sentro 1771 (Serendra Fort), and Cafe 1771 (El Pueblo). But Cafe 1771 is my favorite because of its look.

On the counter are tea containers which reminded me of the one I bought a while back (read my blog post on TWG Tea Company).

Aside from its decor, Cafe 1771 serves good food as well. No wonder it was named as one of the best restaurants by the Philippine Tatler.

We were seated at my favorite spot in the inner dining area.  During my first visit at Cafe 1771, T and I were also seated here.

As you can see, the place is designed like a posh library.

Now you know why I love it!

Instead of the usual bread or chips, we were given popcorn to munch on while waiting.

T got the Red Grouper Aglio Olio which is pan-fried Lapu-Lapu with extra virgin olive oil and browned garlic (P590/$$14). I had a bite of the fish and it was good.

I got the Lacquered Salmon (P660/$16) which is grilled salmon steak with honey soy-sauce reduction, smashed potatoes with Parmesan. This is really, really delish!

Instead of dessert, I just had Cafe Mocha while T had a Coffee Float.

After dinner, if you're in the mood for some drinks, there's a Wine Bar on the second floor.

There are several wine bottles in a dispenser. Pretty cool.

Thumbs Up!
Nice ambiance.
Good food.

Thumbs Down!
Nothing really.

Verdict
If only Cafe 1771 were nearer us, I'd probably be here often! I want to try their breakfast menu and their appetizers.
