I had a feeling everyone will be super hungry after the DLSU vs UP game, and since I'm usually the one who they ask when it comes to food, I racked my mind for eat-all-you can-places in the area. I first thought of Vikings (read my blog entry on Vikings: A Feast By The Sea) then I remembered this new buffet place my colleague Karen told me about -- Buffet 101.
One perk of Buffet 101 over Vikings is that Buffet 101 is only a block away from the Mall of Asia Arena, where we were. It's beside the big ferris wheel so it'll be hard to miss.
Take note of your table number before attacking the
buffet. It'll be useful when asking for food to be cooked, especially
in the grill area.
I can't describe every single dish because there's too much food! I'll just mention my favorites like the White Pepper Crabs and Singapore Shrimps.
A closer look.
I was curious about these mushroom-shaped bowls until one of our friends got one. It's Seafood Chowder.
Buffet 101 has a Spanish Section as well.
The first place I go to in any buffet -- the Carving Station.
I like the Spicy Chicken beside the Stuffed Tomatoes. But it's really spicy! Like eating raw chili pepper.
I love that they have a Fruit Shake Station!
I didn't even get anything in the Juice Station because I was having fruit shake after fruit shake!
Aside from the halo-halo, Buffet 101 has a whole corner devoted to desserts!
This is the Crepe Station.
They also have a yogurt machine beside the juices.
Coffee is a must to stay awake after eating so much!
Place is clean and well-lighted.
Lots of different food selections.
They have a fruit shake section, which other buffets don't have.
Thumbs Down!
A bit far from Mall of Asia but still a walking distance.
Verdict
Yes, we'll eat here again but definitely not every weekend. Maybe once every few months.

I've read reviews stating that they like VIkings better than this place. Guess they upgraded a little. Love the yogurt machine! =)

We tried dining here a few days ago. And I wasn't really satisfied. For me, it doesn't seem like to be worth the price. It was kind of steep for a very few choices.
ReplyDeleteAnd their lamb and prime roast beef was very tough. It wasn't just well done. It was overcooked. I've read othe blogs about vikings, and also read yours, and most are saying that food in Buffet 101 is better than in Vikings.
Since I didnt really enjoy the food in buffet 101, I'm not really sure if I would even try dining in Vikings. Especially now that their priceshave gone up.
Btw, I really like your blogs. I want to start blogging also, but I'm not very much of an orgnized writer. I just write whatever it is that comes into my mind. So it just ends up like a bunch of nonsense. Hahaha
