Another Subic Trip (part 2): A Tavola Italian Restaurant & Bar.

Like I mentioned in my earlier post, T and I went out for dinner on our first night in Subic. We first thought of the popular 'Xtremely Xpresso' but it seems like everyone was there so opted for a quieter place --- A Tavola.

A Tavalo is a hole-in-the-wall located around the Duty Free Shopping area. It serves authentic Italian cuisine, being owned by an Italian who now lives in Subic.

I like the whole aura of the place. I don't know how it is during peak hours though but when we went there after dinner, it wasn't so noisy and crowded.

After getting our orders, our server gave us a basket of bread.

T got a bowl of Zuppa di Copelle/Onion Soup (P190).

A Tavalo is known for its neopolitan pizzas. The pizzas are hand-tossed then cooked in a woodfire oven which, they say, the owner brought from Italy.

We ordered the A Tavola Pizza which has tomato sauce, mozzarella, home made Italian sausages, onion rings, black olives, fresh basil (P380). It was really good! By the way, the pizzas are good enough for 3-4 people to share.

For my main, I got the Filetto di Sogliola which is pan-fried sole fillet or dorado with olive oil and lemon sauce (P360).

T got the Filetto al Pepe Verde which is grilled Tenderloin steak with a cream and green pepper sauce (P550).

T said it was really good, especially the sauce.

We each got a glass of their House Wine to go with our meals. Red for T (P150) and white for me (P170).

T and I enjoyed our dinner and stayed until closing but they were patient enough to wait for us. We'll definitely go back to A Tavola on our next Subic trip to try their other pizzas.

to be continued...

  1. ohhh. we always "ignore" this place because we think it's just another italian resto which doesn't really serve real italian food. so we always end up at xtremely xpresso which is always cramped and full unlike before.

lighthouse marina is also a good place to try. we'll definitely go to A Tavola next week. thanks for this post. :)
