Soderno Food Fair.

Food fairs have been quite a trend this year, the most popular being Mercato in Bonifacio Global City. This month, the organizers of Mercato are visiting the south to bring us Soderno.

Soderno isn't as big as Mercato. There are only two medium sized tents, one has a/c while the other one is open. We went there on their opening night and the place was packed!

Upon entering the second tent, I looked to my left and saw Eco.Pack.

Moving on I saw a number of shawarma stands.

Of course, what food fair would be complete without a takoyaki stall. I wasn't able to try it though. Maybe this weekend.

After the takoyaki stand is Shabu-Shabu. What caught my attention were the giant siopaos!

Next to this is a stand that sells rib eye for P240 and lasagna. We wanted to buy but there were too many people in line. Wasn't even able to take a photo.

I was surprised to find that there were drink stands, too. This looked tempting but I was looking for cold brewed tea.

After the juice bar was Big Daddy Jays. I think my mom got chicken barbecue from here. It was all white meat, which I found good because I only eat chicken breast, but it lacked marinade.

Big Bob's was a hit but people were steering clear of the stall because of the smoke. As you can see, even the boy assisting the cook was covering his nose.

Another stall that had a long line was the Roast Beef Carving Station.

But the longest line would have to be at the mini tacos stand.

I finally found a stand that sold brewed tea called Brewed Leaf. I liked the original sweet tea but their best seller is the honey citrus tea.

T and I liked it so much we bought around 8 glasses.

Beside the iced tea stand is a stall selling dumplings that was famous during my high school years. We got an order but I found it a bit expensive at P50.

T discovered Manangs when we went to Mercato and liked it so much so we were glad they were also there that night.

We got the 6 pieces chicken cuts in mild spicy marinade and Manang's chips and dip.

So how do you get to Soderno?

Soderno is in Alabang, near Ayala Alabang's main gate. If you're coming from South Superhighway, take Filinvest exit and go all the way until you reach a big intersection (second stoplight). Turn left and continue driving. You'll pass Total gas station on your right, Petron to your left and a small intersection with a stoplight. Go straight and you'll see Alabang Town Center on your right. When you get to a big intersection, you'll see big white tents ahead of you. That's Soderno.

Happy food tripping!

Ooooh my gosh Mr Teo! He's so expensive already! Back in highschool they were only half the price I think... Do the dumplings taste the same?
