Christmas Loot Bag.

Hi everyone! How was Christmas? It's been raining non-stop here in SoCal (which is out of ordinary) and everything's closed today so I figured this is the best time to update my blog.  I've actually been suffering from bloglaziness-itis for some time now and quite honestly, I still have it up to this very minute. However, I'll try my best to get the gears going again starting with a peek into my Christmas loot.

Kindle 3 + Diane Von Furstenberg Kayley clutch
(Thank you T!)

I've always been hesitant to get an e-book reader because I wasn't sure if I could let go of a 'real' book but after borrowing my sister's Kindle, I was convinced!  Nothing would beat the feel and the smell of a book but the Kindle's portability and accessibility comes to a close second.  Plus, the book choices are infinite!  Ok, I admit.  I download those e-books even if they're not supposed to be given away for free, if you know what I mean.  Guess that's one of the major reasons I decided to join the bandwagon ;)

I got my Kindle last month as an early Christmas gift and since then I've finished a couple of books already --- The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played With Fire, Hunger Games and Nightmare Room Book 1. At that rate, I really had a busy schedule but because the Kindle was so portable, I could read whenever I had free time, no matter how little! (i.e. while having a pedicure, while in line, while waiting for something, etc).  Another thing I like about the Kindle is that it lets me read a number of books at a time, depending on my mood.  Currently, I'm reading Gallagher Girls' I'd Tell You I Love You But Then I'd Have To Kill You, Hunger Games' Catching Fire, Kane Chronicles' The Red Pyramid, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest and The Zombie Survival Guide.  Yes, I can do that without getting confused.  Weird huh?

Also, the Kindle uses e-ink technology.  It doesn't have any backlight so you can use it under the sun without getting any glare and you can read for long periods of time without getting dizzy.  Another favorite feature of mine is the built-in dictionary and the ability to highlight and share favorite passages on Facebook and Twitter.

Kindle 3 comes in two colors: graphite and white.  I chose the new graphite color instead of the white one mainly because it goes well with the case I chose.  Speaking of, I am in love with my DVF case!!!

The case I chose was the Diane Von Furstenberg signature Kayley clutch.  The outer part had a canvass feel to it and is covered with Zebra-like patterns while the inside had more of a silky texture and is dyed bright pink.  It's actually even prettier in person!

I'd have to say the Kindle chalks one up for technology.  Of course, there are other e-book readers out there like the Barnes and Nobles' Nook and Sony's Digital Reader which comes in a tempting pink color (please don't include the iPad here because it is NOT comparable to these e-readers) but feature and looks-wise, the Kindle gets my vote.

Clarisonic Mia (Limited Edition)
(Thank you sister dearest!)

When my sister asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I didn't know what to ask for (shocker!).  So, she suggested the Clarisonic since she got one for herself this year.

Clarisonic developed the sonic technology proven to gently yet effectively loosen dirt and oil to clear your pores. The Sonic Skin Cleansing System uses a patented sonic frequency of more than 300 movements per second to clean, soften and smooth your skin. In just 60 seconds a day, the micro-massage action cleans more than twice as effectively as manual cleansing.

If you still don't get the purpose of this tool, think of it this way: teeth is to electric toothbrush as face is to Clarisonic ;)  I know, I know.  A lot of skeptics out there for this expensive tool (price range is $150 and up!) but I've read a LOT of good reviews so I want to give it a try.

My sister got me the Limited Edition Hope Clarasonic Mia.  According to their website, this new Limited Edition model was inspired by women everywhere who are battling cancer.

My Clarisonic Mia came with a sensitive brush head, a regular brush head, a small cleanser, a big cleanser and a matching pouch.  I'm currently charging it since the manual said initial charging time is 24 hours.

Another cool thing about the Clarisonic is the magnetic charger.  At first, I was wondering where to plug it in because the thing had no socket whatsoever.  My sister told me all I had to do is to stick it near the handle and voila! Instant charging.  I guess they made it that way because the gadget is supposed to be a shower tool hence, waterproof.

(Thank you Mum!)

It's Balenciaga, what else can I say? :)  I received a cream drawstring pouch (which made me lust over the new City in Praline even more)...

...and a gift set consisting of a 2.5 oz Eau de Parfum spray and 6.7 oz Body Lotion.   I love the box that came with it, too!  I don't know what I'll put in it but it's just so pretty :)

A lovely Paradox. A demure Violet with Airy Blossom and Delicate Peppery Notes. A fragrance that is mysterious and fragile, yet leaves a lasting trail.

I got some other cool gifts, too but I've reached my quota of blogging for today (anybody have a cure for bloglaziness-itis?).   Happy holidays everyone!

Meet my sister's dog :)

  10. russ. I agree with your latest post (btw, how do I post a comment? I can't find a link). That's why I don't publish links to my blog posts on my FB wall, too exposed. In a way, I like a bit of privacy though I always enjoy meeting new bloggies :)

sherin. The Kindle is soooo worth it! And the case, too ;)

  11. Glad u had an awesome Christmas!(:

wow! so many great stuff!(: I think I'm going to get myself one of those e-book readers too!(:

  12. bree. Check out Barnes and Noble's Nook (colored and partly touch screen) and the Sony E-Reader (they have it in pink) but I still prefer the Kindle over those two :)

  13. Oh the clutch is so cute! Great christmas loot! I'm finally starting to get my blog back on track as of tomorrow so I hope you can swing by soon.

  15. I'll go for this since this also promotes recycling. I like it!

  16. Only now did I read the part about your Kindle+cover being a gift from your BF too, just like mine is. Haha. And I even saw another Kindle given as a birthday gift (from the hubby) to GeekGirlManila. Damn, gotta love these guys! ^_^

Thank you for the love!

I enjoy meeting fellow bloggers and readers from all over so feel free to comment and I'll get back to you as soon as I can :)
