Felix and The Distillery.

continued from part 2...

Aside from The Frazzled Cook, The Goose Station, Je Suis Gourmand and Lusso, here's another place you can go to on Valentine's Day... Felix.

Since Valentine's Day is just around the corner, I decided to do one last entry for my Valentine Series. What better place to suggest for a Valentine's date than the place where we went to last year.

Last year was my first real formal Valentines Day date.  Why?  Well, I usually don't like celebrating Valentines. Don't get me wrong.  I do enjoy all the glitter and schmaltz of Valentines Day --- flowers, hearts, everything in red, men scurrying in the malls cramming for gifts -- those i find amusing.  What I don't fancy is celebrating it formally.  But last year was different and I finally caught the Valentine bug.  I'm glad T and I went out.  If this is what 'celebrating Valentines Day formally' means, then I don't mind doing it again :)

T was the one who made reservations in Felix so I don't know how much everything was.  I'm guessing it was around P1,800 per head for the set menu.  Anyway, as soon as we got there, our table was already ready (check!) and upon sitting down, complimentary bread and butter was immediately served (check!).

The salad came not too long after.  the salad they served was the Crispy Grilled Prawns with Romain Lettuce in Caesar Dressing and it was good! Just the right amount of dressing on it.. not too much, not too little.  The prawns were more like fat shrimps but it was cooked perfectly.

For the soup, they were supposed to serve clam chowder with garlic croutons but they ran out of it (which i found weird because everybody was having set menus anyway).  They made us choose between Pumpkin Soup and Mushroom Soup.  I got the pumpkin while T got the mushroom.

The set menu has two choices for the main course.  T chose the Roast US Angus Rib-Eye with Mushroom Sauce served with twice baked potato and sauteed french beans.  It was so yummy! The steak, the sauce, the ribs.. Everything!

I, on the other hand, got the Baked Salmon with Dill served with grilled vegetable orzo pasta and pine nuts. Don't be fooled by the size of the fish.  It seems small in the picture but I barely had enough room for dessert!

For dessert, we also had two choices.  T got the Molten Valrhona Chocolate Cake served ala mode.  I wasn't able to taste the cake because the moment it landed on the table, T swooped down and finished it! I'm guessing it was yummy then :)

I got the New York Cheesecake with Fresh Strawberries.  Yummy yummy yummy!  I just love cheesecake!

All in all, dinner was perfect.  Good food + Great company = priceless!  This clearly converted me into a pro-Valentines girl!  After dinner, we headed over to The Distillery to meet up with some friends.

The Distillery is a cozy, two-floor winery in the fort area.  Seems like everyone went there after their dinner dates.  The place was packed!  Good thing our friends already reserved tables for our group.

It was a really fun night full of laughs!

Remembering Valentines '09 is probably the reason I'm excited for this Valentine's Day weekend.  Which reminds me, I still have to pack my things.  Tell me how you spent Valentines Day!

continue to the finale...
