material girl.

surely i did something else over the weekend besides wishing for lusting over these things but before hitting the sack, i just wanted to quickly share my current infatuations.

cameras

photographer friends, can you help me out with this?

photography was something i wanted to pursue even before the whole craze started.  during that era, however, time and effort were two things i couldn't afford to waste.  but even if the same holds true until today, i feel that i need more hobbies to keep me preoccupied.

and i know that before i could take up photography, i should have at least the tools to make it work.  i love my olympus waterproof digicam to bits but I think a DSLR would be more suited for this task.  problem is, i don't see myself lugging around a huge camera everywhere i go.

so when i saw this last saturday at a baptismal dinner, i knew my problems were solved.  say hello to the panasonic mini dslr.  small enough to keep in my purse but techie enough so i could explore the realm of photography.

another option would be olympus' mini dslr.  According to T's friend, the only problem was that the first version of this mini DSLR was much slower than panasonic's.  but since olympus came out with a new one claiming to solve the speed problem, i'd consider this pretty much a contender as well.

but as a 'cheaper' alternative to keep me started with photography, i'm considering getting this diana f+ qing hua deluxe lomo camera.

pens.

since T gave me the planner i so wanted (no, it's not the Starbucks planner), i've been lusting over pens.  if money were no matter, i'd get the montblanc special edition ingrid bergman pen.  what a beauty!  the tiffany's pen is also cute, it being aquamarine and all.  but since i'm scared of shelling out for something i might lose in a few days, i'm sticking to this hot pink parker pen i saw at a local bookstore nearby.

jewelry.

chanel.  pearls.  need i say more?

personalize-its.

i have this pet peeve of seeing something i have scattered all over the malls --- either in the arms of fashionistas and fashionista-wannabes or inside stores.  unfortunately, my trusty longchamp seems to be the rage right now so i see them everywhere!  ugh.  utterly annoying.

solution:  make my very own le pliage bag.

T was actually the first one to spot the flipcam but ever since he pointed it out to me, i've been quite interested in it, too.  Well, only just a little bit since there are a lot of better options for video cameras out there.  but what sets this apart for me is that flip allows you to customize your camera.

there are still a few more things on my wishlist (and one particular thing at the top of it all but i'd rather keep it to myself until it hits the market) but i guess this will do for now.  how about you?  anything on your wishlist lately?

  1. I love the Chanel earrings! So chic.

I really need a new camera too, and was checking the Panasonic out the other day. It's so sweet! And I'm sure it takes a good picture, too! ;)

  2. know what, i bought a Chanel No. 5 over the weekend -- sadly they are not for me but for my sister in-laws who are avid parfum collector. but that's okay, i love shopping, even for other people :)

  4. Joeiiiii!!!! the hot pink parker pen is divine!!! How much is it?

I've always wanted an slr but I hate how some people would get one for a status symbol and not practice photography. And i've always been happy with having just a digicam... Anyway the Panasonic Mini DSLR is loooove. One thing I hate about SLRs kasi is that their big and heavy and bulky but this is just too cute and handy. go get it na!

  5. Wish I could advise you. I'm on the prowl for a new camera too! Please let me know if you have any ideas on a really easy to use point and shoot for me?

  6. jen. i'm seriously considering the panasonic as well. i'll see if they have it in stores already :)

    greybreaks. you sell cameras?

kero. i love shopping for my family and T, too! ;) as for the underwater cam, i suggest you wait for the canon one. just bought the olympus because it was first in the market.

For the cam, I'd tell you to go for Lumix. DSLRs are good for out-of-town trips.

  8. miles. ya, im thinking about the panasonic cam. but i just wanna make sure that it's not just some temporary whim of mine ;)

    vea. it's P1,700, i think :)

nina. had sony, canon and olympus digicams. i'd have to say each has its own specialty. sony has great features (i.e. smile recognition, touch screen) but olympus has more special features (i.e. underwater, shockproof) and more point & shoot settings while canon has the best resolution of the 3.

  9. Jo, go for the Lumix! Ganda din ng Diana kaso the films are expensive and hard-to-find. I think Dianas use the 120mm or 135mm ba yun, those aren't available in regular stores eh.

  10. ariane. my sister and her boyfriend have lomo cams so they know where to get those films. we have them inside our fridge :)) but i think lumix wins this round. i'm just having 2nd thoughts because i want a canon dslr (mini or otherwise).

  11. Haha, the pen question ;) Go get it na and try not to lose it! :)

Lomo love :) Paul gave me a new one, the fisheye 2. Haven't started using it though, but I'll vouch for the Diana ;) I'm not sure if they're selling that model here. Maybe you can get it in the US next month. Lomo is so much fun :) I found the roll I used when we went up Pinatubo. Maybe i'll post them soon :)

  12. kat. yes, the pen question! i'm just thinking if i should get the hot pink one. might be too 'elle woods'-ish :))

i want the fisheye 2 also. but i like the design (the camera itself) of the diana i posted. haha! although i think there's a fisheye lens for the lumix cam so.. dilemma dilemma ;)

wanna see your mount pinatubo lomo pics!

  14. lue. totally agree! i'm just holding back because canon might come up with something like that, too. i just wanna see all my options before buying one. but i'm getting impatient! ;)

  15. Where do they get those? Penge ng contact number ng seller! I need some for my lomo. Yeah, putting the films in the fridge is one way to get really good photos. :)Meron akong alam seller dyan sa South, si Jennie Castillo but sometimes wala kasi sha nun films na gusto ko.

  16. russ. you know what.. a waterproof mini dslr would be the perfect camera for me! wonder when olympus can make something like that ;)

ariane. i dont know eh. i just know that buying rolls of film wouldn't be a problem because i see them inside our fridge regularly.

  19. mother! go for the lumix :)
i'm a bit iffy when it comes to olympus because of the resolution.

although the lumix cost almost as much as the entry-level DSLR's.

as for the lomocam...hm, baka masayang lang kasi you have to buy a film pa and have it developed (and there are only a few lomo developing centers in the metro). more expensive. plus you can fake the lomo effect in photoshop ;)

  21. mizhelle. my olympus' batt is retiring, too. that's why lately all of my pictures are a bit blurry coz i'm only using my phone. but isn't canon's resolution great? just buy a battery for your ixus ;)

    sher. gotta love chanel! :)

  22. koryn. actually, was thinking the same thing about the lomo. and maybe if my sister has hers, i can borrow it for a while until i get tired of it :))
